The vegetation service derives required vegetation clearance from a span’s electrical clearance findings — one of five standalone cross-utility analyzers, callable directly today, not yet on the conversational agent’s tool catalog.

Endpoints

POST /required-clearance

Returns the required vegetation clearance for a span, derived from voltage class and applicable code (feeds off the same clearance findings the Clearance API produces).

POST /check

Pass/fail vegetation-clearance check, and the right-of-way width the clearance requirement implies.

Why this exists

Vegetation-management clearance isn’t an independent rule — it’s a function of the electrical clearance the span already requires. Deriving it from the same clearance findings every other analyzer produces keeps vegetation and electrical clearance from silently drifting apart.
