The grounding service checks soil-resistivity-driven ground-rod performance — one of five standalone analyzers that close capability gaps found to recur across utilities regardless of overhead or underground domain. It’s callable directly today; it isn’t yet on the conversational agent’s tool catalog.

POST /calc
Computes ground-rod resistance from soil resistivity, rod geometry, and configuration (single rod, multiple rods, or a ground grid), per IEEE 142.
POST /check
Compares the computed resistance against a utility’s declared maximum-resistance threshold and returns a pass/fail verdict.
Why this exists
Grounding compliance is a recurring finding across construction-standards reviews, independent of which utility or which domain (overhead pole ground vs. underground vault ground) is being checked. Centralizing the IEEE 142 math means every caller — QA/QC batch review today, the conversational agent once it’s wired in — agrees on the same resistance figure for the same soil and rod inputs.
