The overhead conductor ampacity service computes a steady-state thermal ampacity rating per IEEE 738 — the overhead-side counterpart to underground’s Neher-McGrath ampacity. One of five standalone cross-utility analyzers, callable directly today, not yet on the conversational agent’s tool catalog.

Why this exists

Thermal ampacity re-rating shows up in reconductor evaluations and storm-hardening studies on the overhead side the same way it does underground — this service shares the IEEE 738 engine used elsewhere in the platform’s sag / weather-sweep pipeline rather than re-deriving it.
